Birthday Weekend

Well, it's Sunday. It was my (29th) birthday on Friday and I certainly didn't do slimming world that day hahaha. Hubby and I went out with my parents, my brother and his girlfriend for an italian meal ... which was absolutely ruddy yummy. I had a spicy chorizo pasta for starter and filletto gorgonzola (fillet steak with gorgonzola cheese and white wine sauce) for my main course. I swear it was the best steak I have ever eaten ... huge but very lean and cooked to medium rare perfection. I succumbed to the homemade tiramisu and had quite a lot of wine and a couple of gin and oranges at my parents house later on. I also indulged in some really yummy Gorden Ramsey chocolates that I was given as a present. It was my birthday. I think I was allowed. Then yesterday we had people round for pizza takeaway ... there was also wine again. And a pecan cupcake.

Today I am going to be much better behaved. I have already done half and hour of aerobic exercise on the wii fit before breakfast. In fact I have been on the wii fit EVERY day this week. You would think half an hour minimum of exercise every day would have done something to my graph but according to the record on the wii I am actually 1lb heavier today than I was last monday. Ah crap.

I'm going to have my weetabix now, then shower and go to the supermarket for fruit salad ingredients for next weeks lunches .. then I have to make an effort to get somewhere with the end of course assessment essay for my current MA module. My final MA module started yesterday so I have a three week overlap between the start of one and the end of the other. I'm going to be v. busy which as we all know isn't ideal for dieting but I am going to do as best as I can and keep up with the wii fit and try and get out to some classes where possible. As Jayne mentioned we are going to spinning class on Monday night (group cycling to music) I haven't done spinning for 12 months or so but I remember it as being hard but fun and really gets the adrenaline going. And of course when you are in a group class there is a slight element of competition ... personally I don't want to be the only one stopping for a breather therefore I work far harder than I would if I was minding my own business on a bike in the gym.

Anyway ... weetabix, shower, supermarket, essay ... things to do. Busy busy busy.

Gem x
