School Dinners

It's all formal events this week. Jayne has had her Ball and tonight I have the "Celebration of Student Achievement" evening. It's basically a posh awards ceremony for the kids and I get stuck up in the theatre control room making sure the graphics get displayed properly on the projectors. Not quite as glamorous as buffets, dresses and vodka but not without its diet dangers either ... namely school dinners.

Our school restaurant (apparently, it's not a canteen as it has soft furnishings lol) is very much responsible for my putting on a stone and a half in the three years I have worked here. Their vegetable quiche is to die for, they do a mean cooked breakfast and don't even get me started on the selection of cakes. They do have their healthy options of course, such as jacket potatoes and pasta which are great for a green day lunch when I haven't been bothered to make a salad. You won't find Jamie Oliver poking his nose in round here, oh no. Tonight is different though because all the governors are here so they bring out the good stuff (in place of good read fattening). I will do my best to stick to the rules, but being as I have no idea what will be on offer until I get there it is difficult to plan. In anticipation I have had hardly any syns at all so far this week (11 in total) and I went to aerobics last night too, in a desperate attempt to lose next weigh in. The scales at aerobics didn't show any loss since Monday though, which was a bit disheartening but I suppose it had only been two days.

Keep on going, keep on writing it all down, keep on being active and try to keep it up over the weekend.

Gem x
