Let's go fly a kite.

Well, I did warn you that I was about to take a running jump into a big old eating binge. It was quite spectacular really. Since last Thursday I have eaten almost everything that you shouldn't eat when you're watching your weight. I won't dwell on it ... it sounds as though Jayne and I both needed a bit of a blow out this weekend. I have no idea what the scales will say this evening (when I eventually get to step on them in between waiting for the eBay buyer to collect the table we auctioned and trying to catch the cat and administer her eye drops). Yesterday the Wii Fit told me I have gained 1 lb, in that smug, jolly way that only Nintendo can do when it tells you your Wii Fit age is 103 (slight exaggeration).

Despite my terrible eating (pizza, chinese, scampi and chips, chocolate cheesecake, malteasers, flapjack, tiramisu, red wine etc, etc, etc, etc) I was actually quite active. On Saturday alone I walked the mile and a half from the centre of town to the garage where my car was getting it's new tyres fitted, I did fifteen minutes of step aerobics on the Wii Fit and spent a good few hours flying a kite at the top of a hill in Lower Penn with Hubby and MH ... you would be surprised how much your heart rate goes up from kite flying. Especially when your hubby is doing the flying and you are chasing around the field retrieving the crashed kite and then relaunching it at the next decent gust. Great fun! And are horror films exercise? My heart was definitely thumping in my chest watching "1408" too ... I reckon shaking on the sofa behind my cardigan wondering what the hell was going on and when the horrible film was going to end burnt of a few calories.

Anyhoo, whichever way I try to appear virtuous through various excuses for exercise, I know I will gain today. Anything up to about 3lbs I reckon from my sneaky scale monitoring over the weekend. I am planning to go to aerobics on Wednesday though (after chickening out of it this evening) and possibly to hulagise on Thursday if I can con at least one person into coming with me. I might even mow the lawn later which, trust me, is going to be one hell of a task.

Gem x
