For the record ... I have grown to really hate my picture on the blog. That's me in the middle there with the bingo wings. Do you agree it's time for a new set of photos girls?

Chinese New Year Diet

Oh yes ... this weeks weigh in. I am please to report that my slightly postponed tuesday weigh in showed a 1 and 1/2 lb loss. Yippee! That puts me at 11st 5 and 1/2 lb and very much on track for the 9lb in 9 weeks challenge.
Good times :)

Little loser
I have lost 1lb this week taking me to 10 stone 1lb. I had a sneaky weigh in on Friday and I was 9 stone 12...couldn't believe my eyes. So the weekend food spoilt a better loss as I was hoping for 2lb. BUT. I am still very pleased.
It was Finley's 2nd Birthday party on Saturday and we had party food such as egg mayo sarnies, pizza, chicken nuggets, sausage rolls, breadsticks and dip, crisps, salad, party rings, mini rolls and jelly and ice cream. At first I didn't eat very much of it, but then I couldn't stop myself having another sausage roll...then another hehe. I really enjoyed the jelly and ice cream too. We were so tired that evening that we ate left over party food for tea. AND again for lunch on Sunday. Tut. I did only have 0 point soup for tea though.
I am going to the gym twice this week but unsure which days yet. I do have my gym stuff at work so I can go last minute if needs be. I did a 20 minute walk, jog, run on the treadmill the other day. Then did 15 mins on the cross trainer. Was pooped, but felt good afterwards so will aim to do that again this week along with a few weights for the bingo wings lol.
It is Finley's birthday tomorrow so I will be eating cake. Apart from that I will be good.

Eating The World
Yet again, I spent my weekend pretty much eating the entire world. I think I actually have a problem. I just can't say no to yummy stuff, even the mere suggestion of it is enough to break my resolve. I had a sneaky weigh in on friday and I had lost half a lb so I am hoping that has stayed off over the weekend. I'm a postponing my weigh in until tuesday this week as tonight I shall be feeling the burn at aerobics when I would normally be weighing in, and I don't want to do it afterwards as all my muscles will be pumped up and therefore heavier. It also gives me an extra day to undo some of the weekend damage, sneaky huh? :)
So, I'll be blogging again on wednesday with the results of my tuesday night weigh in ... and hopefully with news of a loss.

Week 3 Weigh in
Scales are behaving and going in the right direction, lost 2lbs this week. Total loss is 5 3/4lb loss so far. Have done no exercise though, as full of rotten cold. But aiming to get my ass in gear and do the exercise dvd this week at least 3 times, see what sort of differnece that makes.
I had my binge day yesterday, seems to be the only way that i can control myself for the rest of the week....ww would no doubt frown upon it as cheating, but if i get all my cravings out of the way on a Sunday, i hopefully keep myself in check for the rest of the week.
There are cream cakes in the kitchen as one of the lads bday, but i am determined not to scoff them....don't need a cake, so keeping away.
Good luck for our other two loosers for tonights weigh in xxx

Bulge!
Ooopsy daisy ... I managed to pile on an extra 1lb this week. It's all my own fault, no excuses. I know exactly what I did wrong. That makes me 11st 7lb. No messing around, just gotta get straight back on with it. There WILL be a loss next week.

Yay. The scales have moved in the direction I wanted. I now weigh 10st 2lb so that is a loss of 2 and a half lb. Bout time eh.
As mentioned below I am at the gym tonight to do my run and cross trainer. I have had fruit for breakfast and I have a chicken tikka salad for lunch. Not sure what to have for tea yet. but there is plenty in the freezer.
Here's to a week of being saintly ay girls :)

Keeping everything crossed
I am hoping for a loss this week and I have been so much more behaved than I have since way before Christmas. I did have chip shop chips on Tuesday as I went to a friends house after (trying to) give blood. Since then though I was good. I went out Friday night and had a few vodka's and diet coke, but only had a bowl of cereal for my tea as i was (YET AGAIN) in a rush so I didn't go over my points. Saturday and Sunday I didn't count my points but I didn't eat anything naughty. But can't say for sure if I went over my points.
As I do every Monday morning I have booked myself in to the gym. Tuesday and Thursday this week. I also need to start back up with doing my sit-ups before bed.
I am so tired and warn out after my busy, stressful, fun and successful weekend that I won't be doing ANYTHING tonight. I have someone coming to collect the car that I have sold so once she has gone I am getting in my PJ's and chilling out on the sofa. Saying to Tony..."Babe, can you pass my drink"..."babe, could you get me a curly wurly" hehe.
Fingers crossed for me for tonight. I had a sneaky weigh in yesterday and I'd lost 1lb. But you never really know until the day do you.

Week 2 Weigh In
I have stayed the same this weigh in, christ knows how as i haven't behaved in the slightest...really need to get my diet head on this week, as really not trying very hard and i know i shall be very disappointed when it comes round to my birthday and i haven't lost that stone!!!
I have planned all my meals for this week, there is only ww revolting choc rolls in the choc cupboard and a curly wurly, so can have either of those if i'm desperate.
MUST TRY HARDER...shouting at myself now!!

Illness and Busyness Equals Junk Food
I haven't really blogged much this week. The sceptics among you might suspect that is because I have been having a naughty food week. Well, as it turns out I have just been very extremely busy with the last part of my course ... and yes sceptics, I have been naughty with food. Humph!
Basically, my excuses are that I felt run down and poorly towards the end of last week and that led to me being a bit lazy in the kitchen and eating all kinds of junk. I wont go in to it in all it's gory details but I pretty much ate the entire world. Ah well.
The bad news is that I suspect the scales will not be kind to me this evening. The good news is my MA course is over in just a few days and I'll have absolutely no excuses for skipping exercise and eating crap. I think I just have to write a line under the last three or four days and start again. Let's go!

Not great, but a relief
After being so god damn rubbish all week I was a little worried about getting on the scales last night. However I have stayed the same at 10 stone 4 and a half lbs. Not great, but a relief.
I really really want to loose the 4 and a half lbs quite soon. So as of yesterday I am "going for it". I am having orange chips tonight!!! but that's because I am giving blood tonight and then going back to a friends house. It's something that happens every blood donation day. Apart from that I have no excuse. I have already pre-warned Tony that there is no take away happening this weekend.
Well done to my two diet buddies. You losers :p

On the road again.
Hoorah! I managed to keep off that 3lb weightloss that I had had by friday of last week for weigh in!!! I didn't lose any more (I can thank the curry and cheesecake for that) but I managed not to pile any back on so I'm very pleased. So that's a week one weight loss of 3lb taking me to 11st 6lbs and well on the way to the 9lb in 9 weeks weight loss mini-goal. Bring it on!
To celebrate I had a few onion rings with my steak for tea and am now nibbling on a square of chilli chocolate. Yes, one week on and there is still some chilli chocolate left in the fridge. That my friends, is willpower. Back to absolutely best behavior tomorrow though. I'm about to go and make pasta for lunch ... once I have had my cuppa and finished with this chocolate :P

Weigh in # 2
I have had the most disgustingly revolting piggy week ever, but amazingly after jumping on the scales 4 times yesterday to get the reading the same, i have lost 3 and 1/4lb!! That takes me down to 13 8 1/2lb. Whoop whoop, don't know how on earth i have lost that as i have eaten everything these past few days.
Am back properly on the wagon from yesterday, and so far being good. I must concentrate on exercising more, but after i've cooked tea, washed up, put madam to bed the last thing i wanna do is do 45 mins of exercise dvd!! Am aiming for doing more on the bike this week, can at least watch the tv!! hehe.
Good luck to us all
ps....work have chucked me off fb!!! boo hiss xxx

Mixed Behaviour
This weekend I have had some saintly moments and some not-so-saintly moments.
On friday I went to the cinema and because I couldn't decide what to have for tea I ended up having two crumpets with marmite (2.5 pts) and then salted popcorn during the film and full fat sprite (I couldn't face a diet coke). I also had a few chocolate fingers when I got home so I think I did go over my points by a teeny tiny bit, but what I did eat was rubbish.
On saturday I was fairly well behaved until teatime, which was quite an achievement as I was assignment writing all day and I am always tempted to pick while studying. We went over to have a poker night with my brother and his girlfriend and were going to have tea with them. We ordered curry. Ooooh it was yummy, but curry is terrible for the diet. I had to eat something though and was too worn out to argue for a healthier option.
On sunday I was better behaved. I had weetabix with hot skimmed milk for breakfast and then we were invited to my moms for sunday dinner. She cooked roast pork with loads of veg and mash. I think that would have kept me in my points but there was baileys cheesecake for pud. I had a small slice but have no way of finding out how many points were in it. I didn't eat anything else all day though.
It's weigh in night tonight ... I haven't had a sneaky peek at the scales since friday so tonight will be a complete surprise. I had lost 3lbs on friday so as long as I haven't put all of them back on tonight it'll be OK. Fingers crossed.

Saint Jayne is back (from today)
Well I went over my points Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
I am going to laugh about it but I know It was very naughty of me. I found it difficult as I was so out of "the zone" and was so used to eating more and what I wanted like what I had been doing for a few weeks previous.
Last Monday I wasn't really feeling it, but thought I'd give dieting a go. Well it didn't happen at all. I did go to the gym twice but doubt that helps with what I ate.
Today though, I am feeling it. I have the determination feeling in my belly.
I have a banana and 2 satsumas for breakfast. Special K and a yogurt for lunch and a cereal bar and apple for snacks. That's 9.5 points. I need to go and buy a cucumber and a lettuce at lunch time so I can have salads. I think I will have a salad for tea and while I am making that I will make a salad for tomorrows lunch.
I am giving blood after work tomorrow so I will go to the gym on Wednesday and Friday this week. Saint Jayne is back.

How much damage have I done?
Well, starting over on the diet wagon is pretty tough. I have got into so many bad habits over the last however many weeks and they are so difficult to kick. This week I have had a couple of good days, an in between day and now a rubbish day.
Tuesday. The day after weigh in I was ready for it. I made lunch to take to work, had a healthy tea and didn't go over my points at all. I weighed and counted everything.
Wednesday. As above. I was well behaved, stayed within my points and was super strict. I even had a sneaky weigh in and I had lost 1 and 1/2 lbs!
Thursday. A tricky day as I was going out for a meal that had been planned since before christmas with the ladies from yoga. I offered to drive my Mom and Amy to the restaurant to avoid the temptation to drink. That was a good decision and I stuck to the water. I chose chargrilled salmon with citrus glaze that came with a vegetble skewer, salad and ... either chips or mash. I chose mash and it came in a bowl on the side rather than on the plate which was good because I wasn't tempted to eat the lot. I was, however, tempted with the puddings. I could not resist the lemon roulade and everyone else was having a pud too. There wasn't a fruit option so I went for what I thought was best and roulade is meringue-ey so less fattening than a chocolate pud or a wedge of cheesecake. I think I had about 24 points. 4 points more than I should have had.
Friday. I was good for breakfast but I skipped lunch and just had a banana. When I got home from work I was starving so I had a slice of toast and then a few chocolates that I just shouldn't have had. I feel even worse about it after weighing myself again and having lost another 1 and 1/2 lbs!!!
That's 3lbs lost since Monday's weigh in! Right now I weigh 11st 6lbs. Thats great progress but I just don't want to see that graph take an upward turn!!! I'm at the cinema this evening and I don't know what we are doing for tea so I'm just dreading what this will do to my weightloss for the week. Fridays have always been my problem :(

Sam's Fat Bridesmaid
On Monday, with all the excitement and disappointment of the most dreadful weigh in ever I forgot to set myself some goals. My ultimate goal is to be at 10st and I definitely want to be maintaining there by the time Greggles and SammyJo get married in October. I do not want to be Sam's fat bridesmaid. So here are the current stats :-
Current weight : 11st 9lbs
Target weight : 10st 0lbs
Total to lose : 23lbs (eek)
Now, if I have worked it out correctly it is 42 weeks till the wedding. I can totally be ten stone by then if I can lose just half a lb per week . 42 weeks isn't really a short term goal though is it? So, my first goal is to get to 11st and lose 9lbs. Now, I don't want to give myself an impossible deadline and fail, but I do want to get motivated and give myself a kick start. If I lose 1lb per week I can lose 9lb by weigh in on the 9th March ... is that too far away? 9lb in 9 weeks? Given my track record I would say it's probably not too far away at all, and actually quite sensible. Obviously in my minds eye I would like to lose it sooner, say by the end of February, but I must be sensible so :-
Mini Goal : Lose 9lbs
Deadline : 9th March
Also, if I can avoid getting measured for my bridesmaids dress until after then I perhaps won't feel so much like the fat one.

Official weigh-in
I did my official weigh in last night and I was 10 stone 4 and a half lbs. Thats a gain of 2 and a half lb since 15th december. So thats not too bad i guess is it. So I have 4 and a half lbs to loose to get to goal and I want to do that by 2nd Feb.
Got my gym kit ready for today. I'm guessing it will be hard to get back in to my rountine as I did no exercise what so ever over christmas and new year....(unless you count running, climbing and jumping with finley at fun world haha)
Here's to next week's weigh in. Good luck girls.

2009 Weigh In #1
Right. Well, as predicted I have put on A LOT since my last weigh in which according to the wii fit was 21 days ago. In three weeks I have managed to stuff myself so much I have put on 7lbs. That makes me 11st 9lb ... exactly what I weighed right at the beginning of this blog back in April 2008. What a dreadful state of affairs.
If nothing else, it at least prompted me into action. Hubby and I have thrown away the remaining Christmas chocolates from the bottom of the Cadburys Roses tin and also the gingerbread and sweeties that were left from on the tree. There are a few biscuits (party rings and chocolate fingers so not too bad points) left in the house but they are in sealed packets and have been put to the very back of the cupboard. I am also off the booze for a couple of weeks. I emptied the baileys bottle after weigh in because it is just sooo fattening, put any other boozy bits in a wine box at the back of the cupboard completely covered by sugar free squashes and various varieties of tea and I filled the fridge with bottled water.
I am going to be doing a combination of slimming world and weight watchers points. As hubby is dieting too I think points will be too much hassle for him so having a list of foods to pick from will be easy for him to manage. I am going to be eating the free foods along with him but will be weighing and pointing to keep my portion sizes under control.
Hopefully now I am back at work and eating normally the excess will drop off. The exercise regime starts next week with the return of yoga (Thursday) and ballroom dancing (Tuesday). I think I might have to wait until the end of the month to start fitting in aerobics again because I simply have so much work to do to finish my MA by the 23rd January. I can't start skipping the study now just because I'm a bit of a porker. Maybe I can fit in a few minutes of wii fit or hula hooping here and there as study breaks!
Onwards!

Happy New Year
Forgot to say that in my previous post...how rude!!
I have decided to stick with the core side of ww just for now, as i've just peeked behind my fingers at the bank balance and it's looking awful. So best not be having any unecessary spending, which includes the £10 to register and £4.50 to go to SW!!! So back to ww for me and my core ways.
I have 6 weeks until my birthday weekend, am aiming for a stone by then, that's 2 and a bit pounds per week to go...i've gotta do it, sick to death of being a tubber now....so bring it on girls

Barcelona, Xmas and New Year!
Well, I haven't blogged for so long I don't quite know where to start. It's the first weigh in of the year this evening and I am not looking forward to it much. It's also the first day back at work and my suit is uncomfortably tight so I know weigh in is going to be dreadful ... will deal with that later.
It has been a full on two weeks of naughtiness for me. First off, the weekend before Christmas was fabulous as Hubby and I went to Barcelona for our anniversary. Wow, what an amazing place! So much art and culture, beautiful modernist architecture, very very pretty especially with the Christmas lights ... and tapas everywhere you look. And I love tapas! Delicious :P We certainly took in our fair share of the local specialities. Well, it would have been rude not to. Personal tapas favourites were yummy little paprika sausages and these fluffy fried potatoes in a creamy spicy sauce. We had a very peculiar meal in the hotel restaurant, which was completely empty apart from us, the chef wailing in the kitchen and a waitress who we suspect hadn't slept in several days LOL. It was a tasty but rather surreal experience. On our anniversary evening we went to a little seafood restaurant by the port called Cal Pinxo and I had the regional speciality paella which is made with black rice (made with squid ink). My word, that was tasty! Hubby had some sea snails (big ugly spiky shells but deeeelish) and also the biggest prawns I have ever seen. They also have excellent pastries in Barcelona and rather lovely local cava.
Then since we got back on the Tuesday before Christmas it has been go, go go! I think over the whole two weeks hubby and I managed to have one night in by ourselves so the rest of the time we were out and about eating, drinking and generally being merry. All good fun of course, but it has left me feeling festively plump. Some of the highlights included having people over on Christmas Eve for drinks and roast pork sandwiches, our friend H's birthday buffet and cocktails, new years eve chilli and more cocktails with Greggles and Sammy-Jo, dinner, guitar hero at Pam and Calvin's, an Italian feast at the sis-in-law's and a hangover MacDonald's yesterday afternoon. I think I may have drunk alcohol every day and there was certainly no short supply of Christmas sweets pretty much everywhere.
It was fun, but my gosh do I feel round. I actually think I might be glad to get back on the wagon today. Tesco are visiting this evening with supplies and I shall be replacing the Xmas naughties in the fridge with a selection of fruit and veg along with various other saintliness.

Happy New Year
Well as you can see from my previous post I didn't really diet since mid december. Too much temptation and festive outings going on. I had lots of fun over Christmas and New year. The diet and weight gain was always in the back of my mind. But it didn't really stop me. I ate lots. Couldn't help myself.
I weighed myself on Monday 29th December and I was 10 stone 3 and a half lbs. I weighed myself last night and I was 10 stone 5 lbs. Meaning I have 5lb to loose. I will aim to do this 1lb a week.
I was nervous about getting in my work trousers this morning but I managed it so I was happy about that.
I have already booked myself in to the gym for tomorrow and thursday. Had some new trainers for christmas so will be putting them to good use.

Back Again
I have really annoyed myself and put back on my 7lb that i lost before xmas, but hey ho was to be expected....as i scoffed until i dropped.
Am thinking of trying the new SW diet, extra easy....when is there a SW class near us?? Thought there was one at Priory Green, but can't find it on the website. DOn't wanna be going to a class every week, but need to go the first time to get the books etc and see what it's all about. Just getting bored with WW now, need a bit of a spurt on to get me started.
