Curry in "good-for-you" shocker.

As if any of us ever needed an excuse ... here is the revelation that curry is actually good for you. It's a brain food.

"Eating a curry once or twice a week could help prevent the onset of Alzheimer's
disease and dementia, a US researcher suggests.
"

So there you have it ... and with the average meal from an Indian restaurant containing something in the region of 37 weight watchers points (Chicken Tikka Massala - 21, Pilau Rice - 8, Plain Naan - 8) we'll all be great big fatties as well.

What this article actually says if you get further than the sensationalist headline is that curcumin, which is found in turmeric, can prevent the spread of 'amyloid protein plaques ' that are thought to be linked to dementia. So actually, it's turmeric that is good for you and not "curry" of a miscellaneous variety. (Turmeric contains no points at all though so that is good news.)

Raaaaa ... I do get so wound up by this type of scaremongering story.
