I have been good food wise this week. I did go over my points on Monday but it was weigh in night. I would have liked to say it was to celebrate a good loss...but as you know, it was the total opposite. I have not been able to go to the gym because of my bad back, but I do have my gym kit with me today so I'll go and do a bit. Won't do my usual training, but will go and do a light exercise. Better than nowt.
I did another sneaky weigh in last night and I don't seem to have shifted any yet. Rubbish. Proves exercise really does help.
I'm thinking of going running this weekend. I saw a friend doing so last night and it put me in the mood to do it myself. Watch this space. I bet I would burn lots of calories and feel more toned for doing so. Plus...It's free.
I am going to a party tonight with a buffet but I will try and keep my picking fingers away. Not got any plans for meals out this weekend so I have no excuse not to behave.

Going the wrong way
Boohiss. I have put on 1 and a quarter lb this week. Not good at all. The scales are once again going the wrong way. I now weigh 10 stone 2lb.
This week Tony is on afternoons so I tend to get lazy and bored once Fin is in bed so I need to be very strict with myself and not snack. I am still in pain with my back so I won't be going to the gym tonight. I'm hoping I can go on Thursday and Friday. If not then I need to be extra extra saintly...even at the weekend.
I'm having a fat day today. Feeling very plump around the tummy area. These last 2lb are tricky to shift. I have been very close. I have been 10 stone exactly before now when i have had a sneaky weigh in on a Friday. I just tend to spoil it by over snacking of a weekend. I'll get there though. I really will.

Amazing Early Weigh In
I know I said I wasn't going to weigh in until tuesday but I am feeling a bit sorry for myself today. My sinuses are hurting, I have ear ache and the inside of my mouth is really sore :( So, I skived off aerobics today and hopped on the wii fit for a weigh in instead. Somehow I managed to lose half a lb despite the curry and cake and wine and everything else. I think making it to aerobics twice in one week has got something to do with it. I'm going to have to continue that trend if I'm going to shift these lbs. Im not going to make it twice week now as I have missed tonight so i'll have to be ever so well behaved instead.
I've been good today so far with egg on wholemeal toast for brekkie (6) and minestrone soup for lunch with a toasted bagel (4). I had two ginger biscuits (1.5 pts) as well, left over from the base of the disastrous cheesecake but I have written them down. (I must admit that after it had been in the fridge overnight the texture was better and more cheesecake-y than quiche-y but I still chucked the leftovers in the bin.)
The mini goal is starting to look hard to achieve. Still 4lbs to go and only two weeks left to do it. It's not impossible though and I'll be aiming to get as close as I possibly can. More exercise and less crappy food. See, I DO know what to do ... it's just so damn difficult!

Munchies, curry and muscle pains
Its weigh in tonight and i am not looking forward to it in the slightest. I had been really good up until Friday afternoon. All week I stayed within points. I hardcored it at the gym and also did some wii sports and wii fit. The only thing is that I have pulled a few muscles doing it and I am in agony. I can hardly lift my right arm and I am in pain with my lower back (kidney area). It hurts when I move, laugh, breathe and sneeze. Not nice. So I am defiantly not up to doing an exercise for a few days at least. Which is a problem as I know I must have gained.
I can feel I have gained. It won't be to any surprise as I had the munchies when I got home on Friday. Then on Saturday we had a yummy curry for the yummy Vix Birthday. I had an Aloo Gobi Massala (cauliflower & potatoes cooked in spices, fresh ginger, garlic and tomatoes. Served dry) and shared a pilau rice and had 1/4 of a stuffed parantha. It was all very delicious..and so was the birthday cake :)
This then got me back in the mood for eating and munching so I spent most of yesterday doing that...AAARGH NIGHTMARE.
I can safely say that us dieters are starting agian today :) Will let you know the weigh in outcome.

Sneaky Weigh Ins, Yummy Curry and Cheesecake Disasters
It's five day's since my last weigh in and I must confess to not being as saintly as I would have liked. I've had a lot of fun but also a lot of food ... some of which was absolutely delicious. Some, not so delicious.
So, a quick update on my week. I had a sneaky weigh in on Thursday at which point I had not lost a sausage since the official weigh in on Tuesday. Ah well, these things take time. It didn't go on overnight so I can't expect it to disappear over night either (unfortunately). I had full intentions to be very well behaved on Friday night but was invited to tea at my mom and dad's. The prospect of not cooking and more importantly not creating any washing up was a strong one so hubby and I enjoyed chicken pie and mash :P MMmmmmmmm...pie.
On Saturday it was the lovely Vix birthday (Happy Birthday lovely!) and she invited us all out for a curry. I enjoyed every mouthful of my saag aloo and stuffed paratha as much as I enjoyed the lovely girlie gossip of the evening. I also enjoyed the extremely naughty surprise birthday cake! I am unsure of the damage that will have done for weigh in and only time will tell.
Today we had Mom-in-Law over for Sunday lunch. In an attempt to do something ever so slightly more exciting than the traditional Sunday roast we raided the Gordon Ramsey Sunday Lunch book. Hub prepared a spectacularly delicious paella with chicken, chorizo and a selection of fresh seafood. I plucked the recipe for Baked Chocolate Ginger Cheesecake from the book. It looked like Gordon's cheesecake ... it smelled chocolatey and gingery ... it even tasted quite pleasant ... but the texture. OH MY GOD the texture was just SO perculiar!!! Mom-In-Law was kind enough to say that she liked it. However, she also likened it to a kind of chocolate quiche. I don't think quiche-y is a complimentary term for any kind of pudding, frankly. So big tick for Gordon's paella and a big fat cross for the chocolate ginger "quiche" LOL. OOoooh dear me. Never mind. At least hub and I won't be tempted to polish off the leftovers later on ;)
Aerobics again tomorrow and weigh in scheduled for Tuesday.

Caught Up By Cake.
Last weekends cake-fest and general mis-behaviour have resulted in my putting on "a little" weight this week. "A little" is what the smug wii fit say's if you put on less than 1lb. Looking at my food diary for the week (which stops on friday afternoon and starts again on monday lol) I can see that I consistantly went over my points pretty much every day last week. Not by much, but those one or two points add up over the course of seven days to something resembling a large pizza. I think I would have rather been slightly better behaved each day and actually eaten a pizza than going over by having an extra spoon of rice here, a few extra oven chips there and 'forgetting' about nibbling on chocolate at work.
So after "a little" gain of 1/2 lb (tut-tut) I am back to 11st 4 and 1/2 lbs ... three weeks to shift 4 and 1/2 lbs for the mini goal. Eeek the pressure is back on.

Unexpected Loss
Well. I must have behaved better than I thought hehe. The scales showed a loss of 2lb. Whoop whoop. I now weigh 10 stone and 3/4lb. Aaaaaaaalmost there.
I was really good all week and did extra exercise. However I did think I had probably spoiled my saintliness because of Saturday. It was Valentines so myself and hubby went for a meal at Chiquitos and I had a chicken, mexican rice and salsa wrap along with chips and mayo. Then we went to the cinema and my hubby treated me to a pick n mix. I just love those hehe.
On Sunday we went out for another meal for my nan's birthday, but I was good and had a chicken salad and didn't cave in when others had a pud. Phew. Glad I didn't now as I am chuffed with my loss.
We are out on Saturday for Vix birthday curry so I'm not holding out for a loss next Monday hehe. I will be going to the gym this week and will try to do extra exercise on Sunday. I will also be good food wise all week.
A message to Vix : Don't worry about your meals out this week. It's the law to enjoy your birthday week...FACT.

Weigh In - Boo HIss
I;ve put a 1lb on, was expecting it as i have stuffed myself stupid over the last few days, so only myself to blame. I've only done 1 dvd day aswell, rubbish effort all round really.
Dreading this week, as out for tea at my aunties tonight, so that'll involve a pud, out Friday night for a meal and then girls night sat for a curry.....whoops. Am gonna try and do some damage limitation by doing my dvd as many times as possible....but hey ho am expecting another gain, as it's my birthday, so gonna enjoy my meals and get back on track the following week.
Once i'm finished work.....5 more gets ups to go...am hoping to get into a better routine of doing my dvd, hopefully do it everyday with any luck, as i can do first thing in the morning, rather than struggling to do it in the evening....may have to invest in a lock on the fridge though to keep me out of it....
Good luck for tonight's weigh in girlies xxx

Before and After
I found this photo of me from feb last year and had to put a photo of what I look like now next to it... just to check out the difference. I was quite impressed and thought I would share it.
Hopefully this will inspire me to loose these last few pounds :)

Eating for England
You would never imagine that i had that stomach bug over the weekend, felt rough the last few days, but my god i cannot stop eating...what on earth is the matter with me (no i'm not preggers, got the implant!!)
Last night we went to the shops which is the worse thing ever, as i just know i cannot control myself and will buy alsorts of shite. I brought an eccles cake, scoffed that at 11pm once Andy had gone, Liv wanted a bag of choc M&M's, so was scoffing them whilst i was cooking cottage pie for tea, ate my cottage pie and still had some sneaky M&M's!! What's up with me!!
I'm intending to do my exercise dvd this evening as soon as i get in, no chance of misbheaviour then....again it will have to be done Thurs and Fri morning to try and do some damage limitation and god help me on Friday night when i go out for my chinky....am hanging my head in shame at my bingeing.

Another Happy Loser!
I wasn't quite sure what to expect after last weeks gain and this weekends cake-fest ... however, by some miracle (probably by not drinking quite so much wine as I might have done and going to aerobics actually) I have managed to lose 2lb since my last official weigh-in last Monday!!! That makes me 11st 4lbs and a total of 5lbs lost since the start of the year. Wooooooop!
Hoo-ruddy-rah!
Update on the mini goal - 4lbs to lose over the next 4 weeks to meet the mini goal. I can do it!

WEigh In
Loss of 2lb this week, get in there!! Am now 13 4lbs, would love to get down to 13st by my bday, but don't think that'll happen...but hey ho, am getting there slowly...wish it would come off quicker, but think it's a blessing in disguise that it's coming off slowly, as i've normally given up by now. Defo think that my dvd is helping me, hate every minute of it, but i suppose if it's working i should just get on with it....pretty hard keeping up with it though when you have a 3 year old and a dog chasing each other round the room when you're trying to concentrate.
Andy and I are going for a chinky on Friday night for Valentines, dreading it food wise, as i'm trying to be good and i just know that there is going to be so much temptation there, but will try and be very good.
I've lost 7 3/4lb now, can defo feel a difference in myself now, my waist appears to be coming back and my legs are toneing up too....gotta keep at it!!

The Gainer
Well. I have put 1lb on this week. How naughty is that. I now weigh 10 stone 2 and 3/4lbs. So I may as well class that as 3lb to get to goal. I am going to the gym today and WILL make sure I go at least twice this week. I think I need to start doing something of a weekend as well. As this is when I tend to eat more. I will try to take take inspiration from Vix "the loser" and do an exercise DVD.
I AM going to be good ALL WEEK. I have written each meal down for the whole week and have no snacks at work or at home apart from fruit. Feeling determined and got the fire back in me belly. There is one thing this week which means I'll be going out for a meal. It's Valentines day on Saturday so hubby and I are going to the cinema. I'm going to take something low points to snack on like rainbow drops or snack a jacks. Then we are going to have a meal. We are going to do this during the day time, so thinking about it, this will help as I'll prob just have a lighter meal and won't be tempted by having any pudding. Then I could have no point soup for tea. I'll be able to keep the points under control doing this.

Delayed Weigh In Week
Like Jayne, I haven't exactly been on my best behaviour this week. The snow has caused havoc with any plans to exercise with my aerobics class cancelled on Monday and work closing early. I did do 20 minutes of step on the wii fit on Tuesday night ... then spent all of Wednesday hobbling around like a granny lol. I must try and do that more often. The step aerobics not the hobbling. I shall be going to aerobics this evening and therefore weigh in shall be delayed until Tuesday again this week.
Food wise I could have been better too. I was pretty good until the weekend and on Thursday I had even lost 1lb on the scales. I don't know what possessed me to be baking but yesterday I made a bloomin lovely victoria sponge. We were having a friend round for Sunday dinner so I thought I'd make a pud. I filled it with raspberry jam, whipped cream and fresh raspberries. It was pretty darn yummy I tell you :P Saturday night we were out for a meal with some friends who have recently moved out to a little village. We went to visit their new pad and then to the village pub where I had the best fillet steak I have ever eaten in my life. Oh my word it was spectacular. The amazing steak was followed by Homemade Sticky Toffee Pudding (Legendary) - that's exactly how it was written on the menu - and by god they weren't lying. It was a great big wedge of truly legendary tastyness.
So, all in all I am secretly glad of the chance to burn off some of the naughties at aerobics tonight and have the added bonus of an extra day before weigh in. I've got my packed lunch with me today so as not to get tempted by school dinners and in a moment once I have finished blogging I am going plan my entire week of meals. Yes siree bob.

Bad girl
Well, the gain on Monday should have motivated me in to eating more healthily and keeping a count of my points. However, the devil is still on my shoulder as I have scoffed naughtiness all week. I can't stop eating. Aaaah, very naughty and irritating.
I have been unable to go to the gym this week as the school has been closing early so of course the gym has not been open. I should have done some exercise like my stepper or a DVD, but I have not been doing that either. Lost all motivation. Also I am very tired so that doesn't help matters. Once I get home the last thing on my mind has been...salad for tea, dvd. More like a ww meal from the freezer and a waffle. I had a creme egg last night to. Tut.
I really hope I don't have much of a gain on Monday. I know one thing for sure. I need to be strict with myself and GET MOTIVATED.
I am thinking of changing my weigh in day to a Saturday or Sunday morning. I think I may have mentioned this in a previous post, but each week will be a different 2 days at the gym. Sometimes I will have to go on a Monday. So then I won't want to weigh in. Not sure what is best for me to do. I'll have a think about it.

The devil on my shoulder
As I thought. The scales showed a gain this week of 3/4 of a lb. Not the end of the world BUT it is in the wrong direction. They should be getting closer to 10st not further away. I now weigh 10st 1 and 3/4lbs.
The devil is defiantly sitting on my shoulder. I only have 1 and 3/4 lb to loose...how hard can it be??? I am going to give myself 2 weeks. By Monday 16th Feb I want to be 10 stone exactly. This is the week before Vix birthday curry. Then I'll give myself 2 weeks after that to loose what ever I put on that weekend :P
I think the school is closing at 4:00 again today so I will be unable to go the the gym. So I will try to get motivated to do one of my exercise dvd's tonight.

Pasta and Chorizo Hotpot
After much hovering around the kitchen not knowing what I wanted to eat, I eventually decided to try a recipe I found on the sainsbury's website but it seems to have disappeared since last week. It was part of the feed your family for a fiver rage of recipies so it's cheap AND it only works out to 5.5 points per portion (thats if you spilt it into four portions ... and if your husband hasn't munched half of the chorizo from the fridge)!
Ingredients
100g pack Spanish Chorizo (6.5 pts)
2 onions(0 pts)
390g carton (1 tin) chopped tomatoes (0 pts)
250g pack conchigliette (tiny pasta shells, you could use macaroni I guess)(12.5 pts)
1 tbs olive oil (3 pts)
Method
Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large pot or saucepan and add 2 onions, peeled and roughly chopped.
Add 1 x 100g pack Spanish chorizo, with each slice halved, and fry until crispy.
Add 1 x 390g carton chopped tomatoes and stir in 120g conchigliette.
Add 1 litre vegetable stock, made with 1 stock cube, and simmer for 15 minutes.
Add a handful of frozen peas and cook for another 5 minutes, until the pasta is tender and the peas are cooked.
Serve in large bowls with chunks of bread on the side
Serves: 4
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
I can't tell you how easy this is to do and it also makes a change from the usual pasta and tomato sauce which I seem to eat a lot of when I'm dieting. I thought 1 litre of stock seemed like quite a lot at first and didn't add it all in to start with but it did all get absorbed into the pasta and became a thick and lovely sauce. I added a bit of seasoning, some extra paprika some mushrooms and a clove of garlic too. Oh and I left out the peas - yuck. I bet it would be nice to use chopped up left over sausages, or a few rashers of bacon instead of the chorizo too. The recipe suggests eating with wedges of thick crusty bread, but to be honest I just had a sprinkling of parmesan and that did me just fine.
Hubby and I will be eating the leftovers for lunch tomorrow :P

I bet it would be nice to use chopped up left over sausages, or a few rashers of bacon instead of the chorizo too. The recipe suggests eating with wedges of thick crusty bread, but to be honest I just had a sprinkling of parmesan and that did me just fine.
Hubby and I will be eating the leftovers for lunch tomorrow :P

A gain despite the poo.
I almost thought I wasn't going to be able to weigh in today because I couldn't find the remote for the Wii Fit ... but then I did, under my handbag so I had no excuse. I have put on 1/2 a lb since last tuesday despite taking part in aerobics twice last week. AND I was sure to have a poo before weigh in too, as it seems to be affecting the others LOL. So, I'm 11st 6lbs exactly ... that's a three lb loss so far this year. That means I have 6lbs left to lose for my mini goal of 9lbs in 9 weeks and 5 more weigh ins till the 9th March deadline. So I need to pull my finger out now and get on with it.
I'm not at aerobics tonight cus of the snow and I wont be going on Wednesday either as Jayne and I are having a night out SO I must try extra hard to keep my scoffing under control. I haven't had any tea yet as I can't quite decide what I fancy eating ... other than cake. I'll eat something healthy and then step up and down on the wii for a while before making a packed lunch for tomorrow.

The big scoffer
Well. I must pre-warn everyone that there will be a gain today. I have eaten soooo much over the last 4/5 days. Including...
Lots of birthday cake
Other naughty foods such as biscuits and mini rolls and chocolate bars
Chinese (Veg chow mein, prawn crackers and chips)
Pub lunch (sweet potato, mushroom and spinach stroganoff AND cheesecake and 2 scoops of ice cream)
Sausage sandwich (and it wasn't ww bread or low fat sausages)
I keep getting the munches. Not sure if this is because I am so tired that I just keep feeding myself to stay awake or that i'm just being a greedy guts lol. I keep wanting to eat today as well. Terrible. So I must start being more strict again. I will defo go to the gym twice this week as I was unable to last week. I, like vix, am also constipated which makes you feel bloated doesn't it.
So today I am feeling sorry for myself as I'm super tired, feel fat and have a cold. Pha. Not looking forward to weigh in.

Is it Week 4?!?!?!
Weighed in yesterday, have lost an almighty 1/2lb this week!! So cross with myself, as i've done sooo much walking with Liv and the dog...very disappointed as now only lost 5 and 3/4lb so far. I've normally done so well by now, so very disheartened.
But i suppose it's given me a kick up the bum and made me realise that perhaps just walking is not enough for me....so the plan for my exercise now is .....mon - DVD, Tues - Day Off, Weds - Bike, Thurs - DVD, Fri - Bike, Sat - Maybe DVD depending on my mood!!! Just gotta stick to it now....really fed up of being a bloater now, and the goal of me loosing 14lbs for my birthday is not gonna happen now, as can't see me loosing 8 1/4lb in 2 weeks!!!
I've also started doing 25 lunges on each leg when i'm drying me hair....i look very silly doing it, but hopefully that'll make some difference in toneing my thunder thighs up.
Am so constipated aswell, which isn't helping..sorry TMI!!
